About Us

A golfer preparing to swing near a colorful autumn tree. — Latrobe Elks Lodge Golf Club
A golfer preparing to swing near a colorful autumn tree.

There's a reason Latrobe Elks Lodge Golf Club keeps pulling golfers back, and it's not just the scenery. The course sits a short drive from the hometown of Arnold Palmer, and it carries that same Western Pennsylvania ethos: unpretentious, well-kept, and genuinely enjoyable for anyone who loves the game. With a 4.5-star rating built on 139 real rounds, this place earns its reputation through consistent conditioning and a layout that rewards smart play over raw distance.

The design favors variety over gimmicks. Elevation changes roll through the holes, opening up long views across the Latrobe Valley, especially stunning when the autumn leaves hit their peak color. No hole feels like filler. Reviewers consistently note that the course is neither too tight nor too forgiving, landing squarely in that sweet spot where bogey golfers feel challenged and scratch players stay honest.

Beyond the golf, this is an Elks Lodge course, which means it runs on community. Memorial tournaments, casual outings, and organized women's divisions are woven into the calendar. When your foursome walks off the 18th, there's a club atmosphere waiting that most public courses simply can't replicate.

What We Offer

The golf course itself is the centerpiece, an 18-hole layout built for playability without sacrificing character. Fairways are maintained to a standard that surprises first-time visitors, and the greens run true enough to punish three-putts fairly. Tee times are available for members and guests alike, making it accessible without feeling crowded.

Beyond daily play, the club hosts organized tournaments including memorial events and divisional competitions that draw serious and recreational players from across the region. The women's division has a strong presence, with structured events that make the club a genuine destination for female golfers in Westmoreland County.

Elks Lodge membership opens additional access to club facilities and social events, blending the golf experience with a broader community calendar. Whether you're booking a single tee time or planning a full tournament outing, the staff keeps things running efficiently so you spend your energy on the course, not on logistics.

"Very nice well maintenance course. Able to feel relaxed by the wide open view with colored leaves. The holes are not too long, not too short and not too technical. For me, average golfer, very enjoyable course. I’ll golf here again."

"Aside from trees down and wet grounds from a recent storm, this course is in good shape. Layout is challenging with no poorly designed holes. Many elevation changes provide for nice views . It is a walkable course. I prefer to use a cart with which mine was new equipped with GPS"

"Played 18 holes today with my Pap. We both thoroughly enjoyed our round. Relatively open fairways with very little out of bounds. Interesting and fun course layout. Superb fairway condition. The greens were the some of the nicest I have ever played and are comparable to or even nicer than country clubs. Fast speeds and challenging reads. My only gripe is that the pin placements were extremely challenging today. I would probably recommend beginners stay away just because there are much easier courses around. However, this course is great for all ages and experience levels. The price is more than reasonable and definitely worth the money spent. I’m already looking forward to playing again."
